The Stock Non-Jamming Gate Valve (NJG) is used in batch and load out systems where a bin, drum or car must be filled without interruption. This versatile design provides superior performance for batching systems that handle materials such as sand, salt, phosphates or flour, and also for large systems that load coal, fly ash or alumina.
Two different NJG valve models are available for utilization in the appropriate circumstances. Model NJ is the standard design for traditional batch and load out systems. Model ND is equipped with two separate legs that can divert material flow when necessary. This unique design will not allow an entire system to be shut down if one leg clogs with material.
The non-jamming, Model NJ design minimizes the force required for proper operation, resulting in a fast-acting gate with a positive seal. The NJG valve features a heavy-duty, dust-tight construction. The body of the valve is a fabricated steel plate. All joints in contact with material flow are welded inside and out, and ground smooth to eliminate any ledges on which material could accumulate.
Model ND Non-Jamming Gate Valves are diverter style valves designed to operate in a partially opened position. They have a distinct advantage over the traditional diverter gate because of their ability to operate through a standing column of material. Diverter style gates can be operated in tandem or controlled individually. There are a variety of configurations to accommodate requirements such as valve size and diverter angle.
